Changing mail server assignments in
Outlook Express and Outlook

Note: this document applies to Outlook Express 4.0
and above and Outlook 98 and above

 

  1. Start Outlook (or Outlook Express) by double clicking on the desktop icon labeled Microsoft Outlook [ Express].  If you installed Microsoft Outlook (not the same as Microsoft Outlook Express) after installing Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, Outlook Express may be labeled as Microsoft Outlook Newsreader instead.
  2. With Microsoft Outlook Express running, click the Tools item on the menu bar and then click on Accounts.
  3. On the Internet Accounts window, click on the Mail tab.  Then click the Add button and select Mail.  This starts the Internet Connection Wizard where you will enter your account information.
  4. Select your current mail account from the list and then click Properties.
  5. Click the Servers tab.
  6. Under Server Information, enter pop3.cport.com in the Incoming mail (POP3) field.
  7. Under Server Information, enter smtp.cport.com in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field.
  8. There is no need to change any other information.
  9. Click OK and then Close.
