Changing the phone number in Windows 9x Dial-Up Networking

Note: this document explains both changing the
phone number and enabling 10-digit dialing

Windows 95 & Windows 98

1. Double click My Computer

2. Double click Dial-Up Networking

3. Right click the icon for Cport.Com (name may differ)

4. Click with your left mouse button Properties

5. On the General tab, change the phone number so that it looks like this:
   
   Longview 200-4036

Note: Oregon Customers, 10-digit dialing is mandatory.  Other Dial Up numbers are listed HERE.

6. Click the OK button
   

Windows ME & Windows XP

1. Execute a connection to the Internet

2. Before you click Connect, select Properties

3. You may see the number to dial there or select Settings

4. Change the phone number to 200-4036

5. Click the OK button
